Overview

Located down a quiet leafy country lane in the fruit orchard region of the Blue Mountains, 1½ hours from most parts of Sydney. Suzarosa is our 8 acre property, quite different from most in the region. It sits perched on a ridge with views overlooking the mist-shrouded ravines of the Wollemi National Park.

Architecturally the property is a blend of Australian barn, American ranch house and French farmhouse. It is large and sophisticated but very comfortable, cosy and inviting.

Upon entering the house through the oversized Japanese-red door, one immediately encounters its sprawling central space, the hub of this mountain retreat. It has soaring 5.5 metre cathedral ceilings, and enormous sliding glass doors which stack back to blend the outside and inside.

Its rammed-earth walls, are the colour of Ayers Rock at sunset. The walls lend a warm earthy feel to the house, aided by a large wood burning fireplace. They also ensure the house is cool in summer and warm in winter although reverse cycle air conditioning assists.

The property is offered as a wedding venue and/or a self-catering getaway, with accommodation for up to 13 people (5 couples and 3 singles). Only one group booking is taken at a time with that group having exclusive use of the house and grounds.

There is wi-fi, several flat screen televisions and a small Bose sound system.

Outside, adjacent to an enormous timber deck covered by a roof opening pergola, is a large gas barbeque area, flowing out to a large grassy expanse suitable for a game of cricket, soccer or weddings.

The property does not cater for pets and smoking is only outside.
